.IV More into the idea of being an intellectual than applying the horrible shit you learn about in a book by Camus because men wouldn’t like you if you did that. It would make you seem really…independent, which would make us uncomfortable. Most of your psychology is removing parts of yourself, whether they benefit you or are so irredeemably a part of you. Which is why you told me that you don’t think you’re a writer, “It’s kind of a dark hobby.” The way girls who talk about how free and open they are about their sexuality are really just closet masochists—disinterested in politics on the intellectual high ground of it’s perpetual failures. You settle for acting the way all of the flakey, shitty men you’ve experienced in your life to be. Which is none of my business, or maybe it is, but either way it’s embarrassing when everything about your sexuality is really a veiled means of seeming interesting and in control of it—but really the only reason you do that is to excite men you’re afraid of exploring who bore you after a few months anyways. You decide what you really wanted was someone who just thought and talked a lot less than you, which is usually a guy with a cropped haircut and middle class background that squashed any interest in himself aside work, which says a lot about will but not so much about intrinsic motivation… Reclaiming porn because that seems doable—and your interest in porn is mostly because you’re really fucking boring and self-conscious in bed, like the men who regularly use it, because you’re so used to drinking and you were told you were pretty your whole life but it still can’t stop your addiction to hating yourself. And in the same way men fuck, you kind of fuck just to say you fucked, more than you even want to fuck or be around the guy—and your life is like a young professionals, where you just live such a banal sheltered life the longest conversations you have are about organic food bars at cash registers or about the seam work in a handbag, because “that’s how you know it’s quality,” or some shit.
